Our story

It started with a uniform

In 1992, Pastor Samuel met an eight-year-old girl named Grace who couldn’t go to school because her family couldn’t afford the uniform. He wrote to a friend in Canada, who sent the money and then asked if he could keep writing to her.

That one friendship grew into about forty thousand sponsors. The work is still done by local churches, so every child has someone nearby who knows their name and prays for them. Grace is a nurse now, and she sponsors two children herself.
